Yeah this is critical information if you're building something long running or a command line tool, for instance.

I started the ruby-trello wrapper for exactly that reason, to integrate trello into my git workflow. Until the never ending tokens, it made that impractical.

Great post!

I'm a startupper too, and while I cannot live on my business yet, it's slowly becoming a significant part of my income. I don't plan to approach VC's, I believe that small business can survive and prosper without big money (and sometimes big money can spoil it). I do plan to build the second project, but only after I spiked a demo and showed it to the people and got some thumbs up.

I can't imagine coding for others for the rest of my life. I think if you decide to invest more efforts into your own stuff (even spending some time and money on marketing courses if you feel like it), your family will understand.

I wish you all the best with your efforts. Keep it going!

BTW like the design of your blog!

The service had a hard time recovering from the twitter API switching over to updated permissions. Everything should work as it did...now that the service is back to running.

Thanks for this wonderful idea and please carry on working on your idea.

I am currently using it for a non-profit organisation to push information to a group of people on the road.

Question: is PrivateFlock affected by the Twitter permissions changes that were introduced on 30 June 2011?

I'm asking, because after 30 June some of my group messages on PrivateFlock seem to be getting lost :(

So I looked it over. I'm not much for Twitter, but it's an interesting site/app none the less.

It may not be much, but I'd have no problem posting and having a right side "ad" for it if you can give me an icon and maybe a quick write up. (I can throw a post together) Most of my traffic is one and done searches from google, but it's still decent amount of traffic. And no, I wouldn't charge you.

From what little I used of it, I'm guessing it's basically a way to create chat rooms (Private or Otherwise) for Twitter. I did notice that it does not post to my account (I think the kids call it "tweet") which is really nice. Yeah, I guess I'm stating the obvious but it is nice to see it work. One of the things I hate is using the byatool account for chatting and not just posting eh... posts.

You know, I felt the same way for a while since I was all about curly bracket things, but I've gotten used to it. Mostly because it forces some standards in the way code is done.
